## Postal & Last-Mile Delivery Tracking

International postal shipments can be tracked through the **origin country’s postal
operator** (for example, India Post) and the **destination country’s postal operator**(
for example, USPS, Canada Post, Royal Mail or Japan Post). Postal operators may 
exchange tracking events through the **Universal Postal Union (UPU)** network. Updates
can appear at different times on different websites.

**Last-mile delivery:** After a shipment arrives in the destination country, a local
postal service or courier may handle customs processing, delivery attempts and final
delivery. Some courier or logistics services issue a **separate last-mile tracking
number**. If available, use that number on the local carrier’s website for more 
detailed delivery updates.

**Important:** A tracking status such as “Handed over to carrier,” “Arrived at destination
country,” or “Customs clearance” does not necessarily mean the parcel has been delivered.
Tracking gaps may occur during international handovers, customs processing and local
delivery.
